Shark Net Film Night and Q&A

We love our beaches. We hate the nets.

Shark nets provide minimal protection to beach users but have a devastating impact on all marine life killing hundreds of dolphins, turtles and rays every year.

The Greens are strongly opposed to this ineffective, outdated and barbaric practice.

However, the majority of Newcastle’s elected Councillors choose to abandon marine life and common sense in their recent decision to send no response on the question of shark nets for the NSW Annual Shark Management Survey.

But it's not too late to demand Shark Nets be removed!

If you want to find out more, join us for our screening of Envoy: Shark Cull and a Q&A with myself, Greens MP Cate Faehrmann and marine biologist Lauren Sandeman.

The tide is turning on shark nets.

With hope and determination,

Charlotte Mccabe

Newcastle Greens Councillor

and 2025 Newcastle Federal Election Candidate
