Rebecca Watkins - Candidate for Ward 4

Let’s get real—politicians are often accused of being out of touch, but that’s not me. I’ve lived the struggles so many of us face: I’ve been homeless, I’ve had to choose between paying bills or buying food, and I’ve felt the pain of untreated health issues. I know the gut-wrenching stress of trying to make ends meet because I’ve been there. That’s why I’m running for Ward 4.

The cost of living is crushing so many of us, and too many are being pushed into poverty. Our electorate has been overlooked for far too long, and I’m determined to change that. I’ll bring my experiences, my fight, and my passion to the table to secure better outcomes for all of us.

Since moving to Newcastle in 2018, I can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. I’m currently finishing my Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies, and I work in disability support.
