The fight for our forests is on!
We may have won the Great Koala National park and secured it for generations to come, but the work is far from over. All over the state, pockets of important native forest are under threat.
Here in Newcastle, our very own Save Link Road Forest campaigners are working tirelessly to protect this beautiful ecosystem that is home to more than 20 threatened species. The forest is vital for urban cooling and floodwater management, and our community deserves to enjoy living in a landscape where they can connect to the land and the nature we're inseparable from.Blackbutt Reserve was saved by people power - we can save Link Road Forest through the same sustained public pressure.

As part of NSW Greens Forest Action weekend, and alongside the upcoming Save Link Road Festival, we will be letterboxing the suburb of Fletcher to raise awareness about the incredible benefit of our native forests and the need to protect them for their intrinsic value.
Lace up your sneakers, don't forget your hat - and be rewarded with yummy lunch afterwards to refuel you after a morning's work, well-done.
