Given Newcastle's long history of Green representation on Council, It's quite humbling to have put my name forward for the opportunity to join such a hard-working, talented and progressive ensemble of past and current Councillors. The Newcastle Greens on Council have had groundbreaking local wins in the past that have proven to be nation-leading.
If elected, I hope to add to these wins in the areas of housing affordability, and household electrification with renewable energy and marine biodiversity, areas I have spent many years campaigning and fighting. We'll be better placed to achieve this by delivering a strong team on Council, so we can take up the fight in numbers and with a united voice. I've thoroughly enjoyed campaigning with Charlotte, Sinéad, and Rebecca, alongside the hardworking volunteers of the Newcastle Greens.
But even with such a strong team, we're up against the juggernauts with deep (and sometimes questionable) pockets when we stand directly against the major parties. To get ahead of them, we need to grow our team on and off Council.
