Homelessness is a political choice — and right now, the Minns Government is choosing private developers over people doing it tough.
Before they were elected, Labor promised 30% of state-owned land would be dedicated to social and affordable housing and last year the Minister for Housing, Rose Jackson, publicly confirmed this commitment.
But now that the Broadmeadow redevelopment has taken its first critical steps, we’ve learnt that Labor's commitment has been cut down to just 5–10%.

This is public land. It should be used for public good — not handed to private developers with the funds sent down to Sydney to prop up the State budget.
Broadmeadow gives us a once-in-a-generation chance to deliver great urban design, liveable neighbourhoods and the affordable homes our community needs.
If we don’t demand better now, Labor will continue to walk away from their promises.
