Following a visit to Kooragang Island and coal dust affected suburbs in Newcastle, Richard Di Natale will speak about public health concerns, such as coal dust and air pollution, facing coal affected communities around the country, and address specific health issues for Newcastle and the Hunter region.
Zoe Rogers, CTAG’s Dust and Health Committee co-ordinator, will update the meeting on the CTAG community campaign, along with speakers from other key community groups in Newcastle and the Upper Hunter. Lee Rhiannon will MC the meeting allowing plenty of time for discussion.
The Senate Air Quality Inquiry public hearings will be held on Tuesday 16 April starting at 9:30am until 4:00pm at Newcastle City Hall.
Both Richard and Lee are sitting on the Senate Committee Inquiry panel. The Senate Committee is chaired by Greens Senator Rachel Siewert.
