Community Renewables for Sydney – Workshop 13th March

The Community Power Agency would like to invite you to attend Sydney’€™s first public forum on Community Renewable Energy. Come and hear a range of experts in the field of community renewable energy and share your thoughts on how we can foster the creation of community renewable energy projects across Sydney.

As a society we face a range of big challenges from climate change to peak oil to social inequality to rising electricity prices. Every day we use energy, yet we live in a country with one of the dirtiest energy systems in the world. Thus creating community renewables projects across Sydney is a win, win, win:

  • For the environment, as they reduce the climate impact of our electricity
  • For our hip pockets, through return on an ethical investment direct to people like us to fund wider community development
  • For society, by fostering community resilience, empowerment and pride.

Building on the success of thousands of community owned and run renewable energy projects across the world, this forum will be an opportunity to discuss what we can do right here in Sydney. How together we can investigate, finance, organise and own renewable energy assets that power our homes, our businesses and our centres.

Details for the Forum are as follows:
