Timorese Singer in Newcastle

APRA award winning Timorese singer/songwriter EGO LEMOS is visiting Newcastle for the first time on MONDAY NIGHT, 6th FEBRUARY.

He will perform at the Royal Exchange Performing Arts Theatre at 32-34 Bolton Street, Newcastle.

The show will commence at 7.30pm and entry is $15.

Ego Lemos has a melodic and emotional voice and won an APRA award in 2009 for ‘Best Original Song Composed for the Screen’ for the title song from the film Balibo. You can listen to the song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHWCDQ_KS6c

Ego (pronounced egg-o) also sings Timorese traditional songs and independence songs. He has performed around the world and at WOMAD and also has supported indigenous singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu a number of times. His record label is Skinny Fish records.

Ego Lemos has been brought to Newcastle by the Hunter East Timor Sisters project.
