Michael Osborne is the Greens candidate for Newcastle in the 2010 election. He’s been a councillor on Newcastle Council since March 2004 and has served as Deputy Lord Mayor in 2005, 2008 and 2009. He has advocated for the rights of the community to be involved in the decisions that affect them and for an integrated public transport system for the City.
He is passionate about the need for governments to take real action on climate change, and to invest in public services and infrastructure.
He has three children and is an environmental engineer with management qualifications. He is active in the local Wilderness Society and the Green Corridor Coalition to protect the biodiversity of the Hunter.
There has never been a more important time for Newcastle to vote Green. Only the Greens have the courage and integrity to stand by their policies to deal with the challenges we face.
